Lesoon N18 - The Negatives "NO – NOT"

1. Usos de NO:
1. Para dar una respuesta rotunda y cortante.

Example:

Me amas? No

Do you love me? No

Tienes plata

Do you have any Money? No

2. Para negar un sustantivo sin artículo

Example:

Ellos no tienen comida

They have no food

El abuelo de mi novia no vende chicles

My girlfriend’s grandfather sells no chewing gum

3. Para negar un sustantivo precedido de adjetivo, pero sin articulo

Example:

Ella no encontró tenis azules

She found no blue sneakers

4. Con un verbo en gerundio para indicar prohibición.

Example:

No cheating Turing the test

Prohibido fumar en el salón

No somoking in the classroom

2. Usos de NOT:
1. Con sustantivos acompañados de artículos; y siempre se acompaña de un auxiliar.

Example:

Ella no tiene la bufanda

She doesn’t have the scarf

Ellos no compraron una moto

They did not buy a mopped

2. Con las palabras Any, many, much, enough

Example:

No necesito mucho tiempo para el examen.

I don’t need much time for the test.

No hay suficiente azúcar

There is not enough sugar

3. Para dejar un verbo sobre entendido

Example:

Terminaste, todavía no!

Did you finish? NOT YET

Ella vino tarde, no temprano

She came late, not early

4. Antes de Un verbo en infinitivo para negarlo

Example:

Ella me dijo que no me vistiera

She told me not to dress
